Excellent Work in Room 10!

We have been working hard at getting our homework done to a great standard. Miss Park and Mr Melrose love to see great work and we know what a huge effort Room 10 has been putting in. In particular we want to recognise Amelia and James for their amazing work! They both got to go show off their work to Mr Melrose who gave them stickers and a mint each, plus a great comment written in special pen on their work. Great work Amelia and James!

What Room 10 has been up to?
This term Room 10 has been learning Measurement.
We had to cut some string the same size as us and pin it to the wall and then measure it.
We also had to go around the class and measure a few things like a desk and a chair. We also did a Measurement test. We made paper planes and we had a fly off and we had to measure our plane.
This term Room 10 has been doing sewing for Art.
For sewing we are sewing around a blue piece of hessian. Once we have finished we pick another colour and we sew the other way.

Golden time.

In Room 10 we have been busy. Our favourite thing is Golden Time. On Friday 30 May 2014 Kyle and I are going to do outside play it will be lots of fun because we like it.
For outside play we will do flips. Golden time is when people get to do fun stuff in the afternoon at school instead of work because they have been well behaved. It’s a fun activity for Friday. We do it every second Friday after noon.

Spot is a teddy dog we get him who ever sits up the nicest the whole class gets him we share him around.
We have a shield as well. The class that is the tidiest all week gets it. It is shiny and smooth.
Bailee did the sound control. Amelia and Sean said all the words they were really good.

Thank you for reading from Bailee and Megan.

Listening with Aliens

We have been working on our listening skills. First we drew our own crazy alien. They all looked amazing! Some have lots of arms or five eyes! Some have crazy hair and poking out tongues!

Then we chose a partner who hadn't seen our alien...

We had to use our best describing and listening skills to recreate each other's aliens! It was hard but very fun!

We had a great time using our best descriptive language!

Paper Plane

Wow measurement is fun!

We have been working hard at making paper airplanes which we will fly in our air show tomorrow. We have been trialling different designs and seeing which planes go the greatest distance.

Today we are writing our plane profiles which include the measurements of our planes and what changes we have made to the design of our planes. Look out for our profiles coming soon!

Cross Country Fun!

We love to get muddy! Cross country was on Thursday and it was a blast! The field was pretty boggy but that doesn't stop us! Thank you to all the family members and friends who came out to support us, and sorry about all the washing!

Love from Room 10 and Miss Park

Welcome back to Term 2!

Welcome back Term 2! I hope you’ve all had a relaxing holiday and are feeling refreshed for the new term.

Stationary
The new term is a great chance to stock take your child’s stationary. Please make sure everything is named. Your child needs two sharp pencils, one rubber, one ruler, one glue stick and one pencil sharpener. Tissues are a very important part of our classroom and it is very much appreciated if you are able to send a box of tissues along for the class (if you haven’t already).

Toys and electronics
Please do not allow your child to bring any toys or electronic devices (e.g. tablets) to school. We cannot take responsibility for the safety of these devices, and toys often cause arguments and confusion in the playground. Children have access to laptops and tablets at school.

Performance
We are very lucky to have the performer El Grego visiting on June 13th. The cost for this is $3.
